Four Healthy Weight Loss Tips

1. Use your common sense: Humans are blessed with common sense for one single reason: they need to use it every now and then. Many times people don’t use their common sense at all when making certain vital choices of their lives, and that doesn’t surprise me. We often opt for the easy way and that often winds up being the latest fad diet.
I should know, I’ve gone on crazy diets in the past but have finally started listening to my brain and not my taste buds.
Always use your common sense, whether you are eating out or cooking meals at home. Let’s face it, we all know that 3 slices of pizza have way more calories than 1. If you listen to your brain you will go for 1 slice, but if you listen to your taste buds you’ll be hitting 3 slices and triple the amount of calories.
Think about each of your activity and how it will affect your body weight. Think whether your activities are taking you nearer to your weight loss goal or further from it?
You are doing some type of a fitness workout 3-4 times a week. Correct? If not–start.

2. Find healthy alternatives to your favorite foods: One of the reasons why fad diets fail is that they don’t provide enough nutrition to your body. You should first think about proving nutrition to your body and then about dieting.
For instance, suppose that you are not overweight and you don’t need to diet; even then, should you be eating all those junk and processed foods? No at all, because they add nothing to your body’s nutrition level.
On the other hand, they harm your body all the more, or make you gain weight. You should replace unhealthy foods with their healthy substitutes.
As an example, you should always drink water instead of soda or fizzy drinks. While soda or fizzy drinks will make you fatter, water will help you lose weight by burning your calories.
How about a handful of grapes instead of a piece of cake? If you find that you really don’t want to give up all your food pleasures - then cut down your portion sizes.
Only have 1 cookie, instead of your usual 1/2 bag. Purchase some snacks in the new 100 calorie packs and save them for when you want a snack but don’t want to blow your whole diet.
If you love ice cream try some of the new slow churned types that have 1/2 the calories of regular ice cream. Or even better yet try some fat free or sugar free ice cream. Or fruit sorbet or 100% juice ice bars. They are cooling and low in calories.
3. Don’t skip your exercises: No matter what your body weight is, you should never want to skip your exercises. It is one thing to skip exercise for one day during the week; it is totally a different thing to avoid exercises altogether.
Remember that if you rely only on diet, you can never expect to lose weight fast. A combination of exercise and diet is the best ways to lose weight quickly but healthily!
Exercising will also help to shape your body and help you have lean muscle which will replace your fat. Lean muscle is smaller than fat (so your thinner) and it takes more calories upkeep, so you burn more calories every day.
Lean muscle doesn’t make you look like you have bulked up, but instead is long and lean giving you a body that looks wonderful in almost any clothing style.
4. Join weight loss support groups. From time to time, when you are following your weight loss program, you will feel depressed and frustrated and would want to give it up all.
This is very common and this is the time when you need someone to lift up your spirits. Who can support you better than your peers?
You can join weight loss forums online for free. These forums consist of two types of members: people who are struggling to lose weight just like you, and people who have successfully made it to the slim figure.
These people understand all your needs and requirements. They understand that you would like to have a bowl of chocolate soup instead of that damn old carrot. They understand that you would like to have soft drinks instead of plain water.
And remember that someone who understands you well would be able to support your weight loss goals properly!
And lastly - expect to slip up once in a while. It’s natural, we all do it. Just remember that you shouldn’t give it all up because you ate something very fattening or didn’t workout out for a week or two.
Just get back on track as soon as you can, so that your weight does not go back to where it was, or even worse - higher. The quicker you pick yourself up the less damage control you have to do.
Good Luck!
